Teaspoon Coffee & Tearoom: A Hidden Gem in Saigon

If you are a tea lover and are on the hunt for a cute little tearoom in Saigon, then you’ll absolutely love Teaspoon Coffee & Tearoom! They have a big selection of tea varietals to choose from as well as some tasty desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Teaspoon is the perfect place to spend an afternoon reading, working, or just chatting with friends. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this little hidden gem in the middle of Saigon’s city center!

The Ambiance

As with many of Saigon’s cute coffee shops, from the street you’ll enter a small alleyway and ascend a narrow stairway to reach Teaspoon. And once you step inside you’ll be greeted by a cozy ambiance with comfy seating, colorful murals on the walls, and a large decorative tree in the center.

The tea/coffee bar and dessert case flank one wall, right next to a bookcase filled with darling little teacups and tea sets. A long bench with small bistro tables sits under a Tuscan-style mural. And plush chairs and couches take up the area near the big windows. If you’d rather side outside, there is a small balcony overlooking the street although the traffic noise isn’t exactly peaceful.

The Wifi works great and there are several outlets around the room so if you want to bring your laptop and get some work done, this is a great place to sit and stay awhile!

If you’re lucky, you might even get to hear one of the super friendly baristas play a tune on the piano or the guitar.

The Menu

The menu at Teaspoon Coffee & Tearoom is limited to tea, coffee, smoothies, and desserts so don’t come here expecting lunch (though it’s right around the corner from L’Uisine, one of our favorite brunch spots in Saigon). The wide selection of teas includes various fruit and floral varieties, as well as black, green, and herbal teas. You can also select the strength of your tea.

The dessert offerings at Teaspoon vary depending on availability. Flan, macarons, cheesecake, lemon meringue, and red velvet are commonly available, our favorite of which is the lemon meringue!

If coffee and tea aren’t your “cup of tea”, consider ordering one of the refreshing fruit smoothies or one of the sweet blended drinks like the cookies & cream or chocolate chip shakes.

The Pricetag

As mentioned above, the strength of your teapot can be customized depending on your preference. A pot of medium-strength tea is 100,000 VND and a strong pot is 120,000 VND. If you want an extra cup to share with a friend, it’s 20,000 VND more.

Coffee drinks are in the 55,000 – 70,000 VND range, smoothies are 80,000 VND, and desserts range in price from 30,000 to 80,000 VND. Prices are totally reasonable so you’ll probably want to order a few things from the menu if you plan on spending a few hours here.

Even if you aren’t a tea person, it’s worth visiting Teaspoon Coffee & Tearoom to sample their yummy desserts and other drink concoctions. The ambiance is so comfortable and relaxed, it’s easy to spend all afternoon here.

Definitely get a pot of hot tea and a slice of lemon meringue pie and choose one of the lounge chairs by the window. And don’t forget to check out all of the quirky tea sets on display!
